Waymo leads the race

Notable investments in the self-driving cars space have been reported this week.

Nuro, Softbank invests 1 billion USD.

Aurora, Amazon and others invest 900 million USD.

Leading the technology race by far and away is Waymo though. They increased (4x in 2018 compared to 2017) their miles driven and at the same time also get better as the so called disengagement rates show. What this and other metrics mean we will talk about at the 5. Silicon Valley meets Switzerland event on March 28. Are we coming closer to the self-driving automobile age?

All these companies are in Silicon Valley. Europe and other regions seem to loose out in the next-gen automotive era. Already late with EVs one seems to be also running behind in AVs. And we are not talking about China who is a player as well now.
